Graduation Transitions

Grade 12 Graduation Transitions

Graduation Transitions is a requirement for all B.C. secondary students. It is an opportunity for students to reflect on their preparation and plans for lives after graduation. There are 4 components of Grad Transitions:

1.) Work Experience

All students are required to complete 30 hours of work experience or volunteer work. Please see Ms. Anderson or Ms. Gunter.

2.) Physical Activity Log

All students are required to participate in at least 2.5 hours per week of moderate to vigorous physical activity. To meet this requirement, students need to complete monthly Physical Activity Log with signed verification or supporting documentation (e.g. pay stubs, gym passes, wrist bands, certificates, coach letters, etc.).  The documentation of a student’s physical activity is ongoing throughout the year.

3.) Graduation Transitions Package

In the student’s folder, students will reflect on their personal and career goals during secondary school years and develop a plan for lives after graduation. The plan needs to include and specify profile of a students interests, skills, goals, financial plan, etc.

4.) Student-Led Interview

This is an opportunity for students to showcase their high school accomplishments and share their goals, strategies and action plans during a student-led interview with a teacher and/or member of the community. Students must complete all of the above requirements before scheduling an Exit Interview.
